ABOUT THE PROGRAM
A Beautiful Message is a Central Texas art program with leadership and business training.
We aim to connect young artists with local businesses and organizations to highlight art and its relations to real-world experiences. This program will utilize affirmations, quotes, historical context, cultural references, visual elements, and more to impact social issues and create positive dialogue within public spaces.
This program is supported by an American Rescue Plan City of Waco grant from Creative Waco.
2024 SCHEDULE
Our 2024 schedule will require students to engage in 20 to 30 program hours. These hours will run throughout September and October. Artists will have the opportunity to engage in a three-phase program. The program phases will include murals, two workshops, and a community exhibition.
Each artist will receive funding for materials and labor.

During Phase I, artists will learn how to install a mural.
Artists must dedicate 3-4 hours for three consecutive Saturdays in September.
The following dates are September 7, 14, and 21. Artists will engage in leadership lesson plans provided by Grassroots Waco and connect with small business owners to gain networking skills. Furthermore, artists will work alongside pro-muralist Vincent Thomas. Each artist will receive compensation for their contributions.
PHASE II : WORKSHOPS
During Phase II, artists will connect with local professionals to understand art and its impact on respective industries.
Artists will continue their leadership training with Grassroots Waco and work on exhibit pieces.
